The municipality of Campos has approximately 8 km of coastline that go from Colonia de Sant Jordi (municipality of Ses Salines) to S’Estanyol (municipality of Llucmajor). Although it has two population centers, the rest is just beaches and virgin sandy areas.

In the eastern part next to S’Estanyol there is Sa Ràpita, located at 10 km from Campos and also at 10 km driving by secondary roads from our Agroturismo Son Lladó. With a name of Arabic origin (which comes from the term rábida or ribät, which means “fortified hermitage” or “defense tower”) it still preserves the defense tower of Son Durí, located next to the current Club Naútico. Nowadays Sa Rápita is a small location that, even though it´s the main tourist center of Campos Municipalitu, it doesn´t offer hotels per se, but rather houses and chalets which work as second residences or exclusively for summer holidays purposes. The area offers all the basic services, and its restaurants, cafes and bakeries are highly recommended both for their services and for their terraces with spectacular sea views.

And a little farther than 1 km from Club Náutico de Sa Ràpita, we can find the other population center of Ses Covetes. This area was originally formed by fishermen’s cottages settled on a small rocky area, and later some summer houses were added. Today it also has some emblematic bars and restaurants.

And although there is much that could be said about our municipality coast located in this iconic south of Mallorca, today we´ll focus on three of its dream beaches that are very close to us: Es Trenc, Sa Ràpita and Ses Covetes, just 6 km away in a straight line, you can also reach them driving on secondary roads with hardly any traffic in 9 km, 10 km and 7 km respectively from Son Lladó.

Es Trenc Beach:

Es Trenc beach, the largest of the inlet and one of the best known in Mallorca, has crystal clear waters and fine white sand. It starts just after the Ses Covetes area with a sandy beach of almost 3 km long, totally virgin; that is, you will not see houses, buildings or hotels. That’s right! Es Trenc is a virgin territory that is protected by special laws for its conversation.

Even so, it has certain services, there is only one main restaurant, the beach bars known as “chiringuitos”, rental of umbrellas and hammocks and a parking lot right by the entrance via Salinera. In addition to its unique and spectacular views over the piles of salt and ponds, the Es Trenc salt pans offer the possibility of guided tours and there´s a store where you can buy Flor de Sal Es Trenc products.

Es Trenc-Ses Covetes has been compared to the Caribbean thanks to its vegetation and crystalline blue waters. In addition, its sunsets are out of this world, no doubt you will see memorable sunsets in Es Trenc, we guarantee it!

Sa Ràpita Beach:

Before telling you about this beautiful beach we want to start with a fact that you will find very practical: It is a beach easily accessible both on foot and by car and has good parking, even in high season!

Sa Ràpita offers 1 km of beach extension and crystal clear waters, ideal for family visits. It has life-saving equipment, restaurant, showers, and rental services of beach umbrellas, deck chairs, etc. In addition, among the beaches of Majorca, Sa Rápita is known for its shallow and calm waters that allow the children to take a dip as if they were playing in the swimming pool. Please note that there may be seaweed depending on the season.

Next to the beach is the Club Nautico with a restaurant that offers exquisite culinary options, specializing in seafood and paellas.

Ses Covetes Beach:

The beach of tranquility! Ses Covetes is located between Sa Ràpita and Es Trenc and the locals distinguish between the part on the right of the buildings, about 300 meters that meets the beach of Sa Ràpita and the part on the left, which meets the beach of Es Trenc. Here the distances today cannot be applied since the popularity of the name Es Trenc has absorbed this part of Ses Covetes, so we speak of Es Trenc-Ses Covetes and we give it the 3 km. In addition, among the rocky area, just in front of the entrance road to Ses Covetes, we find a small beach of just 50 meters called Es Freu.

Extra facts and info about these beaches:

  • They all have sun lounger and umbrella rental services available, but you can bring your own.
  • Only Sa Ràpita offers some kind of water sports or activities.
  • They all have parking and are accessible by car, although in some you have to walk some distance to reach the beach.
  • Sa Ràpita and Ses Covetes are ideal for windsurfing.
  • In Es Trenc nudism is tolerated.
